Group (NYSE:DIG) is the Internet business of The Walt Disney Company.
It is headquartered in North Hollywood, California, with satellite

on-line world, Disney Online, the Disney-branded product group
within DIG, creates and produces a variety of award-winning sites
on the Web.
The first Web site created
by Disney Online, Disney.com, launched in February 1996 and quickly
became one of the most popular and highly trafficked sites on
the World Wide Web. Located at www.disney.com, the site showcases
the services and products of The Walt Disney Company.
In
January 1997, Disney Online opened an office in Paris to manage
development of original content in European markets. European
web sites are currently being developed using local languages
to provide fun for all the family audience and news about the
latest Disney films, products, and travel destinations.
In September 1998, DIG
opened it’s international headquarters in London, in preparation
for the re-launch of Disney.co.uk. Re- launched on March
1st, 1999, Disney.co.uk offers a range of exciting and educational
features. Children and their families can test their skills
with games and tournaments, steer the action in interactive adventures,
and stretch their brains with mind-expanding fun.
